Moving shelf from one node to a different one within the same cluster

Hi all,

I have a 4 node cluster with FAS8020HA (node1, node2) and FAS2552HA(node3, node4) controllers in my lab.

The FAS8020 has a shelf with 2 volumes owned by node1 and node2. What if:

All nodes from FAS8020 are dead. I tried to recable the shelf to FAS2552.

When I tried to reassign the disks, the 9.4 ontap said the only way to ressign disk is in takeover mode or in maintenance.

In the maintenance mode the foreign disk did not appear.

Is there any way to keep the data on the shelf alive?

Thanks.

Zoltan

Generally the process is unown all the disks and reown to the new controller.

How dead is the 8020?   Are they only mostly dead where you can get in to maint mode?  or dead dead?

Also,  on the 2552, are you just doing disk assign all or doing individual data disks?

And is there any ADP in play on the 8020?
