NetApp C-series Disk Minimum Expansion Unit Inquiry

Dear All

I are currently offering the C400 model to customer
However, since the capacity of a single disk of the device is large,
We are having difficulties with our customer's expansion.

technically,
After the initial installation (disk -10 use),  I wonder if it is possible to add one disk at a time.
As far as I know, RAID_DP is a single disk extension. ((FAS and AFF have been added by one each.))
However, for the C-Series, the minimum purchase is 4 each,
I wonder if I need to add 4 disks after the initial installation.

Best Regards

Yoon

From a storage point of view, you can add one disk at a time, as long as it is expanding an existing RAID group, but it is not best practice to do so.

AFF C-Series expansion is only available in 4xSSD increments.

If you are a NetApp partner, you can find more information on the NetApp Field Portal.

Dear andris.

Thanks for reply.

As you said, I understand that you need to buy at least 4 of them.

but,
Disks 10, 11, and 13 are also configured when configuring disks on Fusion.netapp.com.
So, I think it is possible to add 1 sheet to the existing Aggregate.
However, I want to know if the storage raises a warning when I mount 1 disk.

Best Regards

Yoon

Dear AlexDawson

I late reply

Thank you for answer.

Because it's not best practice,
I didn't tell the customer to expand one sheet at a time.

thank you
