Hi All,

I have zoned NetApp FC adapter and assigned VTL/drives to it however I am not able to detect it on NetApp.  Can someone point out what is going wrong?

etc$\tape_config folder has the TCF file for IBM LTO 3 drives.

Here is the info on assigned VTL MC (L180)  and Drives (IBM LTO 3)

excuse me did you resolve the issue? We also have this problem wit fas3250 7-mode 8.1.4 Metro cluster. After every powercycle of the Quantum I40 tape library zoned in SAN with the filer on port 3c (Initiator) , then sysconfig -t show the tape drives correctly but sysconfig -m or storage show mc output "No medium changer present on the system"

NetApp & brocade help us in trobleshooting changing Tape library from Loop , Auto NL Auto LN and Point to Point in SAN, we also changed the tape drive & upgraded Qauntum I40 firmware but always the same issue. Changing FC patch cable & SAN switch port does not resolve the issu. We are still investigating.

if we do a set of this command on both the filers the it works: but why before dataontap upgrade we did'not have this issue?

storage disable adapter 3c

storage enalbe adapter 3c

and the sysconfig -m show the media changer.

???

Thanks
