Power cables through the middle of SAS cables

I have a customer with DS460C shelves.  The SAS cables between the shelves are two metre so they have been coiled and velcroed.  He runs the 15A power cables through the middle of the loop  (For neatness).  My electronics background tells me that this is a bad idea and on one shelf the SAS ports actually went offline until we removed the power cable.  Despite this, he insists upon doing it unless I can find something in writing telling him that he can't.

Is there any such document?  Does anybody have any thoughts on the subject?

I wonder if there is any noise on the SAS shelf? I don't think I've ever seen this question asked honestly. It does look clean. As thick as the SAS cables are they should have some kind of shielding on them I'd think. I'm not a HW SME so let me check.

I checked with a HW SME and they said they hadn't heard of anything like that. So I guess the answer is: it should be fine. You can run some sas commands to check for loop errors or open a case to double check.
