Queries on Storage Limits for FAS 2040

Experts,

I need your help to find out answers on some of the queries I have regarding our NetApp environment. I have a FAS2040 with DATA Ontap version 7.3.3 with a CIFS flexible volume size around 2 TB. We need to increase the size of this volume to 100 TB. Right now total aggregate size for the two controllers is around 11 TB and 6 TB. Now can we do the following?

 1. Buy disk arrays and assign 100 TB to a single aggregate.

 2. Allocate 100TB on step 1 to a flexible volume to use on CIFS

What are the steps required to accomplish these and when will NetApp stop supporting FAS2040? Thanks in advance for your time.

Thanks for the reply. So what if we upgrade to Data ONTAP 8.x?
