Question about mixing different NVMe disks in the same disk shelf

Hi Experts,

Good Day!

Just one question about NVMe disks hope to get help.

The NVMe 1.9TB disk has two Part numbers: X4010A(SSD,1.92TB,NVMe,SED) and X4018A (SSD,1.92TB,NVMe,Non-SED). Can it be mixed in the same NS224 disk shelf?

Here is an AFF A400 system, the current disk configuration is 12*1.92TB NVMe (PN:X4018A) disk, I intend to add 12*1.92TB NVMe disk (PN: X4010A) to expand the storage capacity for it.

Many thanks for any input.

Yes, you can mix them in the same shelf (or same HA pair, for that matter).
You would need to confirm that self-encrypting drives (SED) can be used in the country of operation.

See: Does NetApp support encrypted and non-encrypted disks on the same node?
