Switched cluster to new Switchless ONTAP cluster?

Hi

A customer has a 4-node ONTAP cluster.

We want to renew this 4-node FAS-AFF8060 cluster with a brand-new switchless cluster so I want to know whether this is supported or not (for minimal downtime):

- Join this new HA-pair to the current 4-node cluster, connecting to its InterConnect switches

- Evacuate all data to this new HA-pair's disk shelves.

- Remove 4 old nodes and shelves.

- Replace the InterConnect switches with cables one-by-one

Also experiences related Will be appreciated

Regards

Yes, that is a sound plan.

The switched -> switchless doc has been provided for that last step.

I have migrated data off multiple 7-mode and cdot clusters to new separte clusters.   Your high level plan is the way to go if you have the cluster switchports available.   Migrating volumes and LIFs within a cluster is so much less work/risk than migrating data between clusters and having scheduling client downtime.
