Visual Source Safe (VSS) on SATA drives & perfromance?

Can Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS), version control/change management tool data be placed in SATA drives of FAS storage systems? will there be any performance issues because it is on SATA drives?

Additional info: Data size is about 4 TB and about 200 concurrent users.
