Hi,
I've got three shelves: 2 - mixed (DS2246: 4 ssd + 20 sas), 1 - sas (DS2246: 24 sas disks).
Should I divide my shelves into different stacks?
stack 1: 2 mixed shelves
satck 2: 1 sas shelf
What document describes the stacking rules?
Thanks,
Amir
The solution you suggested looks good for me. Putting shelves into different stacks actually avoids single point of failure.
Mixing of SSD and SAS disks in the same shelf seems to be supported from ONTAP 8.0.1 onwards, but in ONTAP 8.1.1 , a bug is fixed w.r.t this. Details here: http://mysupport.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=542094
