Clustered VMDK support for WSFC

Hi,

I would like to make sure I am not missing something: I wanted to create a clustered VMDK datastore for Windows Server Failover Cluster File Server using SolidFire storage, but vSphere reports that the LUN to be used for the datastore does not support clustered VMDK's. Is there any way to enable the support for clustered VMDK here?

Or is there any other way to create a compatible disk for a Windows Server Failover cluster?

Related information regarding Shared VMDK.

Kind regards,

Well...

create and use a quorum with a CIFS continually available (CA) share from ONTAP if you have a NetApp running ONTAP.

Sorry, missed the SolidFire reference.

In any case, I think you should be able to create an iSCSI LUN for the Quorum

Two options if I recall

create and use an iSCSI LUN for the quorum

if your windows server is new enough

create and use a quorum with a CIFS continually available (CA) share from ONTAP
