Unless you configure an alert via ocum for aggregates that point to a traphost, I don't think this can be done. I know there are no native traps for aggregates

First, you tagged Clustered onTap, based on a 2040 you are running, i assume this is 7-mode. What is the qtree security on your volume. I assume you are doing mixed mounts, since you want to add access from both windows and linux. If thats the case, my recommendation for net new is either adopt RFC2307 and run NTFS qtree Show me output of qtree security /vol/volname/ and if qtree exists /qtreename

The documentation is correct. /- will snapvault only non-qtrees. I assume you are using 7-mode, because I can only speak for 7mode. Also, if you dont plan on having your vaults managed by oncommand protection manager, then you can do volume to single dst qtree. I am not sure how /- isn't working for you. I manage a very large snapvault environment where we do qtree based as well as /- because it's all managed from OCUM. Are you 100% sure those are qtrees?

Hi, We are attempting to migrate snapvault primary's and have followed and document by Adai, explaining that we need to relinquish relationships and then use dfbm to add back in. That's where we are seeing the issues PS C:\Users\x188172a> dfbm primary dir add sv:/sv_vol0 vfiler1:/vol/vol1/qtree Error: Multiple objects (ids=17133,17557) are named 'vfiler1'. Use object ids to disambiguate. Data has been sanitized prior to posting I'm on this step of ADAI's doc Step 14: Add the physical resources back to the dfm using the DFBM From the DFM Server CLI C:\>dfbm primary dir add nearstore:/SameVolName newvfiler:/SameVolName/- Started job 3608 to create backup relationship between nearstore:/SameVolName and newvfiler:/SameVolName/-. C:\>dfbm primary dir add nearstore:/SameVolName newvfiler:/SameVolName/myqtree Started job 3608 to create backup relationship between nearstore:/SameVolName and newvfiler:/SameVolName/myqtree. This will not do a rebaseline as the relationship already exists we are only adding the same to dfm. C:\>dfbm job list 3608 Job: 3608 Status: Normal Time Started: 08 Aug 19:29 Description: Importing backup relationship between secondary nearstore:/SameVolName and primary newphysical:/SameVolName/-. Progress: Done Arguments: svsVolume=1367&svpHost=141&svpDir=%2FUserHome%2F-&svThrottle=0 C:\> Take careful note of the syntax here. The Secondary / SnapVault volume goes at the beginning, with no qtree. No /vol syntax either. The primary SnapVault source goes last, and includes the qtree.

Your splunkuser role is messed up... You need to follow the splunk document for the app for splunk to make sure that you give it the rights perms for the app to work properly.

Ok, first thing you should at least be upgrading to 7.3.7Px, but i assume you are using an old controller... I hate seeing old controllers put into production.. anyways, not sure where you are at with the configuration or what you exactly mean.. Just boot into maintenance mode and wipe it

Disk upgrades are all NDU, there is no downtime. You should however do this at a low I/O time to the system. Download all.zip to the software folder - software install all.zip.

This is interesting.. I'm sure there are expensive applications out there to do this kind of work, but if your data set is small, you can use powershell to crawl your filesystem and then select the files and copy it. But good luck

Interesting.. what do you mean you want the aggregate seen by both HA controllers... You can't assign an aggregate across HA controllers, you can split the disks up between controllers and assign

Yes, that's correct.. so you aren't doing bidirectional replication? Just using 2220 as your mirror destination. It's perplexing to me b/c the network traces look good.. You have the allow file on the source, your dst is restricted, bu your getting network error.. hmm..

I'm assuming they are mapping to the same share, let's say \\server1\share1 So your users are updating files in \\server1\share1 and the users in site B, cannot see the updates on \\server1\share1. Let's assume there is an excel document that user in site A updates and closes, what your saying in Site B, the user doesn't see the file? seems fishy

Ok, let's rule out dns... Are you using DNS names 2240? Is that the real name? What's your initialize command look like (please paste) Do a traceroute from the dst to source with the name in initialize statement.

Wow, you are really making management of your systems challenging in my opinion.. Unless you work in a secure infrastructure where it is required to lock down transfers to a specific controller and volume, it's easier to set access to "legacy" and put the host in without the volume. Also, paste a few lines from the destination snapmirror log in /etc/log I assume you restricted the destination volume

The beauty of netapp, imho, is vfilers and vfiler-dr. Single failover within a few minutes... Replicates the shares.. also, helps migrate them..
