You are correct - UM 6.x only supports only Clustered Data ONTAP. This is the same for OnCommand Performance Manager as well. You should continue to use Unified Manager 5.2.x for 7-Mode Data ONTAP. Thanks, Kevin

Jarod, No bug exists for this behavior in OPM yet, so please open a support case for this issue. Generate a Support Bundle via the Maintenance Console and an ASUP from the web interface and attach both of them to the case, or alternatively upload them to the case using this KB: https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=1010090 To retrieve the Support Bundle after generating it, SFTP or SCP it from the system as the maintenance user. Please post the case # once you have created it. Thanks, Kevin

OPM 1.0 will work as a standalone package. The abbreviation OCPM actually refers to the the NetApp plugin for MS SCOM. I am confused as to where you observed the error shown in the initial post. Did you observe it in UM 6.0? Thanks, Kevin

If you are referring to OnCommand Performance Manager as "UCPM" then the answer is that it only works with UM 6.1 (and higher). UM 5.2 still has Performance Advisor embedded within it for performance data collection. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Robi, I do not have a solution for you - please open a support case and refer to Bug 626092. Collect a support bundle from your OCSM and attach it to the case after you open it. Then send me the case # so that I can track it. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Robi, The OCSM installation default is a port range, not a single port. https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP1354559 Ports used by System Manager ..... System Manager does not allow you to specify a port range to start the Jetty Web server. System Manager either allows you to select a specific port or automatically selects the port. If you manually specify the port, you can start only one instance of System Manager. Running a single instance does not allow multiple users to access the application simultaneously. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Robi, When you installed OCSM did you specify a particular port for it to use? Only one client can connect on a port at at time. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Ashish, The report sharing works only for members of the administrators group. Users without the admin privilege GlobalFullcontrol in OnCommand Unified Manager are unable to share the report. Can you confirm that you have the proper privileges? Thanks, Kevin

Hi, Are you noticing any other errors or odd behavior? Has this behavior occurred since you installed UM 5.2? When did you notice the behavior for the first time? Please open a support case and refer to Bug 747520. You will want to include a DFMDC output to provide the UM logs. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Hasmik, The complete details for that bug are not yet online. However I assure you that the footprint you have observed is that bug. The crashing will be fixed via a code change in an upcoming UM release. The duplicate aggr situation could happen after disks are inserted into a controller that contain partial data from a previous aggr, and that which now show as a partial or complete aggr with a name that duplicates another in the controller. You might check "aggr status -r" and ensure there are no incomplete or duplicate aggr names on the controller you referenced. Additionally, are you using the VMware NetApp Storage Adapter in your environment? Thanks, Kevin

Hello, That error message and related dfm server process crash are further proof that you are indeed hitting bug 770795 (as Adai pointed out). Thanks, Kevin

Hi Muru, The backup file does not contain much of the data listed in the action plan, so if you want that specific data migrated then you need to copy it to the new location manually. Kevin

Hello, Assuming that monitoring is working normally (SNMP and API) you should only need to wait for a monitoring run to complete to discover new objects on the cluster. Note that this is not a real time activity. You can use "dfm host diag CLUSTERNAME" from the UM command line to determine if UM is communicating to it properly, although even if all these tests pass there could still be misconfiguration that prevents monitoring. Thanks, Kevin

Hello, You should start with the latest version to ensure you have all the fixes available. The most current version available at this moment is 5.2P1 and can be found at the download page by scrolling to the bottom, choosing "OnCommand Core Package - Windows" (or Linux) via the "To access a specific" option, then entering the version 5.2P1. If you do not implement UM immediately, be aware that UM 5.2P2 will be available in the near future and you should plan to upgrade to it or use that version once it is posted. Thanks, Kevin

Hello, I am not aware of any bugs that describe this behavior. I recommend that you open a support case and upload an OCSM support bundle collected just after navigating to the volume tab for an affected controller. You might increase the logging level for OCSM prior to navigating to the volume page to increase the chances that the cause will be found from that one log set. To do that follow these steps: 1) Tools -> Options 2) Log Level --> DEBUG 3) Save and Close 4) Generate the error/failure condition (i.e. navigate to the volume page and allow it to load) 5) Set the log level back to INFO 6) Collect a support bundle or the logs from the System Manager installation path. 7) Attach the support bundle to your support case along with details regarding the controller used to generate the behavior. Thanks, Kevin

Protection Manager has never been able to vault a volume - you will need the relationship to be in the following format for PM to use it: /vol/sv_test_m/- OR /vol/sv_test_m/qtree1 You can read details in this PR: DataFabric Backup Manager and Protection Manager do not support volume-to-qtree SnapVault http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=114665 Kevin

From the PR: ....using the hidden option "dpAllowSameAggrRels". For example: # dfm option set dpAllowSameAggrRels=1 Changed allow a relationship within a single aggregate to 1. Hidden options are not visible until set/changed. Thanks, Kevin

Older versions of UM/DFM prevented creating relationships to the same controller due to an ONTAP limitation. Once that limitation was removed UM still only allowed relationships to different aggregates on the same controller. However, this changed in UM 5.2 using the dpAllowSameAggrRels option. See this public report for details: http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=464200 Thanks, Kevin
