Hi Cecil, This functionality is currently planned for a future release of UM 6.x for Clustered Data ONTAP. There are no plans to add Smart Card support in UM 5.x. Thanks, Kevin

A UM 5.x backup (dfm backup create) will backup everything required for a disaster recovery or to migrate the functionality/hosts/data to another server. I am not aware of a method to restore from the UI. Kevin

You could use the hostPreferredAddr1 host level option to set an address for VSM traffic. UM woudl then update the sm.conf file after creating a connection in the UM database. Thanks, Kevin

Unified Manager will send the snapmirror command using the node names it has for the controllers, so be sure to verify that the destination controller can ping the source controller using the name that is listed for it in "dfm host list". Kevin

The only workaround is provided in the bug details, however I have not heard any reports of anyone using it http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=300668 Adjust the LUN monitoring interval to exceed the verification run time, this can be accessed through the following menus Setup menu > Options > Edit Options: Monitoring > LUN monitoring interval, Fiber Channel monitoring interval, and SAN Host monitoring interval http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/DFM_win/rel371/html/software/opsmgr/luns10.htm The release containing the fix is due out in the next few months. Greetings Raviteja, The last version of UM that allowed monitoring both cDOT and 7-Mode was 5.0.x. UM 5.1 7-Mode will not allow you to add cDOT clusters - you must stand up a second UM instance to monitor cDOT. Ensure that you have a valid database backup (dfm backup create) prior to upgrading to UM 5.2P2. http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/occore_lin/5.2P2/ http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/occore_win/5.2P2/ If you run into any problems during the upgrade, please be aware of this bug: http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=764854 Thanks, Kevin

Saran, Being on DFM 4.0 means you are both exposed to 439756 and that you need to upgrade as all versions of DFM/UM prior to 5.0 entered End Of Version Support as of 12/1/2013: https://support.netapp.com/info/web/ECMP1147223.html Additionally, there is a bug that prevents the command "dfm perf data list -v" from accurately representing data files larger than 4Gb (~3.98Gb). You need to create a backup (dfm backup create) and upgrade to 5.0.2P2 or higher: http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/occore_lin/5.0.2P2/ http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/occore_win/5.0.2P2/ Thanks, Kevin

You are correct - the id produced by that command changes each time and I am unable to find any support documentation for it. I missed that it was changing when I ran it multiple times yesterday, however I have verified that it did not change the ID viewable in the OSSV Configurator, which remains the original value on my system. The Install and Admin guide states on page 68-69: https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMM1278870 NDMP Host ID Indicates a unique identifier that the Open Systems SnapVault agent fills automatically. This identifier is used by NDMP-based management applications to identify the primary storage system. You must not modify this field. So if these hosts do not yet have working SnapVault relationships I recommend reinstalling OSSV on them to ensure unique host ids. Kevin

You can view the NDMP Host ID in the "SnapVault" tab of the OSSV Configurator (assuming a Windows based systems) or using the svhostid executable in the install path (C:\Program Files\NetApp\snapvault\bin>svhostid.exe in Windows). Kevin

This is a question best answered by Product Management. However, I can state that UM 5.x will continue to be updated but not necessarily enhanced. Changing the alarm functionality would be an enhancement. Kevin
