I am answering the UM7.x question : UM7.x is also not collecting the SVM comment information from ONTAP. As an alternative solution, the approach shared by Sinha should work. Its easy to implement. Regards, Saravanan

OCUM 7.x doesn't support 7-mode. I hope, you are referring to ONTAP9.0 CDOT. OCUM 7.x supports only CDOT monitoring. Can you confrm your environment, so that I can help you with additional details. Regards, Saravanan

You can go to the new dashboard (landing page), and edit the cluster. The "Edit cluster" page has options for you to provide new username and password. The new credentials you enter will be updated in both OCUM and OPM server. It should work. If it doesnt work, please let us know. Regards, Saravanan

Yes, the limit recommendation is based on number of nodes and not clusters. The recommended limit per UM instance is 48 nodes, which means that user can monitor either 24 2-node clusters or 12 4-node clusters, or 6 8-node clusters, or mixture of these but total count should be 48 nodes. However, the product doesnt have any restriction and it'll allow you to add more than 48 nodes. But, the recommended number is 48 nodes. Regards, Saravanan

Is your setup running in Windows or Linux or vApp? If it is running on Windows or Linux, can you paste the output of following commands: * hostname * ping <hostname> * pint -a <ip_address> I do have a workaround for this issue, and the above output would help me to validate that. Regards, Saravanan

I assume your's is a vApp system. Can you login to maintenance console, and go to options 3 -> 11, and see what is the hostname it shows. If it sill shows old name, I want you to follow the same step, and change the hostname. After changing the hostname, you need to reset server ceriticate (option 3 ->10), and reboot the server once (option 3 -> 2). After doing all these things, reverify the event assignment workflow, and see what server name you are getting. Regards, Saravanan

This is available. I want you to refer to couple of places in UM6.3/6.4, and then you can make a decision where you want to look at it to get this data. Reports - We have a report called "Aggregate Capacity and Utilization" that shows Total / Used/ Available/ Overcommitted capacity and Growth rate. This report is not showing 'Committed capacity'. If you are interested to see 'Committed capacity', you can get them in Aggregates inventory (Storage -> Aggregates). This shows Total / Used/ Available/ Committed capacity. Regards, Saravanan

I would like to give an update on the interfaces that are available for the users to add clusters to OCUM: 1. GUI - Its known to everyone. 2. CLI - We have a um cli called "um datasource add ..", and using this you can add a cluster to OCUM. This CLI is exposed only for RHEL and Windows. Since the vApp is a closed box, this is not applicable at the moment. Regards, Saravanan

If you are interested, I'll be able to give the generic steps to be followed in OCUM to send traps to anybody or any tool that is listening on some port number. If you are looking forward for the exact steps to be followed in HP OV, you need to reach out to someone in field. Please let me know if you are interested on the former one. Regards, Saravanan

This execption will appear only in the scenario of where you have regenerated the UM server certificate (either self-signed or a thrid party certificate signed by CA). Can you please reboot the vApp once and re-try the ldaps configuration. It should go through. If the above doesnt fix this issue, login to vApp console -> regenerate the self-signed certificate using console options -> reboot the server -> re-try ldaps configuration. IMO, one of the above steps should fix your problem. Regards, Saravanan

If you want to add a cluster to OCUM directly, OCUM doesn't have any external API/CLI for that. You need to use OCUM GUI only. At present, I suggest you to use the solution provided by Abhit. Regards, Saravanan

Hi, OCUM never uses SNMP for monitorings. It uses ONTAP APIs to get data from CDOT clusters, processes the data and raises events based on the outcome of the analysis. Regards, Saravaanan

I assume you are looking for full integration pairing b/w OCUM 64 + OPM 21. I hope both are upgraded setups (6.3 upgraded to 6.4, and 2.0 upgraded to 2.1). There is a heartbeat channel established b/w OPM and OCUM. If that fails, then the pairing status is marked as BAD. It has auto-heel capability and OPM tries to communicate with OCUM every 5 mins. Once the proper connection is established the pairing status will be turn to Good. Can you please wait for few more mins, and share us the screenshot. In full integration mode, you can not login to OPM URL directly. To go to OPM, you have to use the navigation path of UM -> Dashboard drop down button -> Performance. This is the only way to follow to land into OPM web GUI. Regards, Saravanan

Thank you olaf. I hope the support team will take care of. I assume yours is a upgrade scenario, and not a fresh installation. As a last try, can you please share the below data to come to a conclusion: 1. Output of /opt/netapp/essentials/data/app_regitry.json 2. The last few lines of log /var/log/ocum/ocumserver-debug.log - where you could see some put/post requests sent.I want to see those relevant lines. Regards, Saravanan

Thanks Olaf for the output. I understand that you have changed the hostname. Is it really "OnCommand.domain.local" or you named it like that here to secure your actual domain name from our visibility ? If so, I can also use "OnCommand.domain.local" in my local lab, and try to repro your error. Other than that, I have other 3 questions: 1. Did you reset the server certificate post the hostname change ? 2. Did you reboot your box post the hostname change ? 3. For the domain name you used in the hostname, did you configure the right DNS server in your host configuration ? Can you check your /etc/resolv.conf and get back ? Sorry for asking more questions, but I want to see where the problem in the configruation. Regards, Saravanan

Thank you for the output. If it is vApp, we have another solution for that. You can change the hostname via vApp console options. Login to the vApp via SSH with maintenance user account. Go to options 3 -> 11. You can enter the new hostname, and go for option 10 to reset server certificate. Then reboot the vApp as suggested in the output of option 10. This will help you to fix this problem. Regards, Saravanan

If it is vApp or RHEL, can you please execute the following commmands and share the output. hostname ping `hostname` ping6 `hostname` Try to make entries into /etc/hosts with FQDN host name, and reboot the box. Post the reboot, this error is expected to be fixed. It it sill persists, please share your /etc/hosts config as well. Regards, Saravanan
