That makes no sense, sorry. Volumes that you create on aggregates do not have any “LUN number”. Once again - please copy and paste exact command and its output where we can see what you call “SAS volumes”.

If would use 2 then with RAID_DP without spares. You unassign disks on current owner and assign them on partner. On A: disk assign 0a.0.xx -s unowned On B: disk assign 0a.0.xx

Yes, you can do it as non-disruptively as at all possible using takeover/giveback; I have been through it. Do not forget that any mistake in new switch configuration would mean service interruption, so you still need to account for it. I personally find it much more irritating to have unplanned downtime than arrange for planned one. Also do not forget that CIFS connections will be disrupted during takeover/giveback.

I guess yes. Keep in mind that SnapDrive does not support dynamic disks in case you use it. Also, is it possible to convert simple volume back to basic disk?

Shared switches are supported for selected configurations. Assuming yours is qualified, the actual task is pretty boring. There is no data loss and existing FMC can remain online. I do not see any advantage (from NetApp side) in doing it. Distance limit is several hundred kilometers to my best knowledge, but there are other considerations as well. I would not do it if you are new to NetApp - it is not rocket science, but having some experience helps. If possible, try to involve professional services from NetApp or partner.

Must be some site problem. Open case by submitting feedback (link on the bottom of page). I have good experience with site support, usually they are quite responsive.

It's not possible without disruption. You can use SnapMirror and it will give minimal downtime from filer side, but you will need to stop access from all hosts to old LUN before doing final cutover and this will be the most time consuming part.

Sure, ndmpcopy, “vol copy”. If you already have SnapMirror license, you can also use QSM which will copy single snapshot only, without any pre/post history.

HA pair is a pair of nodes in cluster; so to create a single HA pair it is still necessary to create a cluster using 10G interface for cluster data traffic, isn't it? Yes, that's correct. Sorry if I used somewhat unclear wording; I meant that HA pair still uses CF interconnect for HA purposes.

Yes, 7-mode does not need additional expansion cards for HA pair (neither does C-mode - 10G interfaces are used for data traffic, not for HA).

Nodes in Cluster Mode are interconnected using 10G interfaces. There is no way around it. You can build two node cluster without additional switches by directly interconnecting 10G ports of both nodes, but there is no way to use CF interconnect for it.

Yes, your understanding is correct - SP is accessible only via wrench port. I’m not sure about 100/1000 to be honest … yes, I looked at one of switches and interface runs as 100Mb/s (FAS3170, FAS6240, FAS2240). According to information I have, in FAS8000 management port is 1GbE.
