Hi, no we haven't updatet Java, because we had already a higher version installed. ---> java version "1.7.0_09" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.5-b02, mixed mode) <--- SnapVault Updates of the effected Server work. As Workaround we scheduled the updates directly on the 7-mode Filer. But if possible we want to wen't back to SnapCreator. Do you have any other suggestions? Hello Together, we are using Snap Creator 4.0p1. As this version won't support SnapVault on Cdot we need to upgrade to a higher version. We faced out that since version 4.1.1 on all Agent Hosts must be java installed as well! We want to ask you if we can operate a 4.3 Snapcreator Server with SnapCreator 4.0p1 Agents (all the existing Agents are installed on 7-mode, so no new features will be required for them). And only to install on Servers were new features are required the new Agent with Java. Why have you changed this? An why won't be java delivered with the Agent installation? Best Regards Daniel Baer

Hello community, we are currently running SC 4.0P1 without major problems. However sometimes we are experiencing some network problems, which cause SC jobs to quit before they can complete. Exiting Result of this is that I have to manually do the snapvault updates of the volumes that weren't backed up. Is there a way or workaround to make SC do a retry or are there some timeout settings which cause SC to abort the job immediately that could be adjusted, so that SC continues? BR Stephan

Hi community, I've tried to integrate OSSV into SnapCreator but did not get it working yet. The idea would be to replace our existing OSSV backup jobs in Protection Manager with jobs in SnapCreator. Hello Together, since we made this changes Set the retry count of all Volumes from 2 Servers from defazult 2 to 5 checked with the colleague of our network team the switchport and changed the from Auto negotiate to 1Gbit fix on both the Switch and Nic the errors haven't appeared again. Seems that both settings or maybe only one of it solved our problem. Will keep an eye on it the next two days and if they won't appear I guess the problem is solved. Will keep you informed. Set the retry count of all Volumes from 2 Servers from defazult 2 to 5 had a look if VSS Shadows could be taken manually. Was successfull for all Drives (see output below) checked with the colleague of our network team the switchport and changed the from Auto negotiate to 1Gbit fix on both the Switch and Nic If this won't help I will try tomorrow the options snapvault.access host suggested by Ashwin. I was able to use lrep_reader.exe to Backup an Outstation Server to USB Disk. Now I'm having troubles with the LREP_writer.exe. I can start the LREP_writer command and it says: waiting for connection Use snapvault start command on the secondary to create a relationship I do that on the secondary: (Snapmirror.access is on all and also I tried with the host Name of the Client without success (Client Windows7)) snapvault restore -S Client:E:\lrep\sv_init /vol/ossv_v_test/Backup I see the Message on the Client: Connection accepted from IP of Secondary On the Secondary: Restore will overwrite existing data in /vol/ossv_v_test/Backup Are you sure you want to continue? Y after that I'm getting Qtree preserve is complete for /vol/ossv_v_test/Backup SnapVault: destination transfer from Client:E:\lrep\sv_init to /vol/ossv_v_test/Backup: request refused by source filer; check configuration on source. Transfer aborted: request refused by source filer; check configuration on source. Transfer failed: request refused by source filer; check configuration on source. I have also installed OSSV on my Client and stopped the service because LREP uses the same Port but still same error. There is no firewall between the Client and the Secondary. I have also a case opened by Netapp but without a result since 10 Days. so perhaps someone can help. It seems to be a Problem with the Client but Windows Firewall is dissabled on my Client. What do I have to configure on my Client to get the restore transfer startet. Or is still something wrong on the secondary.configured?

Hello Community, we rolled out OSSV on several Windows Servers and now the Windows Application Log reports the Following Error. ID "4102", Source "SnapVault". D:\ <Destination Filer>:/vol/<Destination Volume>/Dxx Unexpected read select while no data pending I found several Community Discussions regarding that but no solution overall. The OSSV Install Log shows that we have the following Version is installed. NetApp Host Agent version 2.7 (2.7.0.2203) Agent Core Library version 2.7 (2.7.0.2203) The destination filer runs the following Ontap version NetApp Release 8.1.2P4 7-Mode: Attached you'll find the latest logfile. - set all config files to not encrypt password - saved 3.6 config files folder - stopped SnapCreator server service - saved 3.6 db files (complete snapcreator folder including subdirectories and files) - uninstalled 3.6 - installed 4.0 (start as service, custom port 8081) - stopped SnapCreator server service - copied backuped config and snapcreator to new location (C:\Program Files\NetApp\Snap_Creator_Framework\scServer4.0.0\engine) - ran update (java -jar snapcreator.jar -update) > no errors - started SnapCreator server service If you want to, we can go back to 3.6 immediately and do the upgrade again to reproduce the error, as I have a snpshot before the upgrade.
