Upgrade MetroCluster AFF400

Hi,

I've been asked to upgrade a metrocluster compose of 2 AFF400 NetApp, and 2 NX9336C-FX2 switches. The AFF400 has ONTAP version 9.10.1P2, and we are planning to upgrade to 9.14.1P10, but when run the pre-check, it complaints with the message "Unsupported MetroCluster IP Switch Firmware 10.1(2) for switch model N9K-C9336C-FX2 in Target Release 9.14.1P10."

In the upgrade document, I'm advise that first I have to upgrade the switches firmware, and to perform the switch upgrade I need to generate a new RCF file and upload it, as the new switch version requests it.

I need advice about generating the new RFC file and configure the switch with this new RFC. I'd downloaded the RFC file generator, and have the RFC file generate, but I see the actual switch configuration and the new one are a little bit different.

How could I merge the new and old information to be use in the switch?

Regards,

You don't need to merge that information and just use the new generated RCF. More information at MetroCluster IP which RCF version should be used - NetApp Knowledge Base
