HI folks,

I have a strange behavior with our FAS 3210HA and System manager 2.0R1.

If I try to enable FC/FCOE ......

but fcp is licensed AND is running....

if I remove the FCP license via CLI and add it via System manager -> same issue

seen with System manager 2.0R1 and Ontap 8.1RC1 and RC2

thx

Hello Niek,

tryed this....

NetApp05> options licensed_feature.fcp.enable on

For this platform, a license is required to use this feature.

NetApp05>

but FCP IS licensed and running

NetApp05> fcp status

FCP service is running.

NetApp05>

Harald

Odd... are FC target ports available?  Does "fcp show adapters" show any targets and are any of the onboard ports in target mode with "fcadmin config"?  FCP is enabled on both nodes with the same wwn?  fcp nodename?

Hi Scott,

i can configure the whole FCP stuff through the CLI - it works and my VM Server is consuming a lun from this storage.

i can not manage FCP via the System manager Interface.

by the side, i did tests with Ontap 8.1RC1 and 8.1 RC2 - i am not able to test with 8.0.x

ONTAP 8.1RC2 with OnCommand 2.0R1

here i have the same issues,

"options licensed_feature.fcp.enable on"

gives me the same error;

"For this platform, a license is required to use this feature."

but i have fc-iscsi licenses enabled and serving luns for esx servers

Same for me guys... even started another thread about the same issue when I did not see this one.

Any update?

Regards,

Pedro Rocha.

I ran across the exact same issue today as well. 8.1 RC2 on a 3240 with System Manager 2.0R1. A tentative ETA would be helpful as my customers are not very proficient with the CLI.
