Common Access Card (CAC) support

Has anyone had the opportunity to enable Common Access Card (CAC) support with 7.1.0? We are now running 7.0.3 in production, but testing 7.1.0 in our lab and after documentating will move to production. Details around Common Access Card (CAC) support seem very light, or non-existent.

Any tips, tricks, or gotchas?
