DFM 3.7.1 install on a Solaris 64-bit machine.

IHAC who is trying  to install DFM 3.7.1 on a Solaris 10 machine (ZFS as the underlying filesystem).  I think the problem is that he is trying to install 32-bit code on a 64-bit  machine. However he sent me the isainfo output (not too familiar with the tool)  which is throwing me off. Just want a sanity check that it is infact a  32bit/64bit problem and nothing else because the output states that it support  32-bit 1386 applications as well (however in this case it should be SPARC 32-bit  right?).

Hi Amir,

You might want to think about getting onto Linux as Solaris support was dropped from OM as of the next version (3.8).

Just a thought.

I am certainly not a solaris expert, but it seems to me that he is trying to install software for SPARC on a i386. DFM is only supported on Solaris SPARC.

And I agree with Richard. Since NetApp has dropped Solaris support completely starting in version 3.8, it is not worth the effort to setup a new install on Solaris. Another good reason not to go for Solaris is performance. Solaris is a lot slower when compared with e.g. Linux.
