My client is sending SNMP traps from all NetApp controllers over to a dedicated Ops Mgr server (traphost). On the same Ops Mgr server he has HPOV agent installed that's supposed to capture and forward alerts to the HPOV server but it's not working. It appears that having the HPOV agent and Ops Mgr on the same server prevents the Ops Mgr from receiving filer alerts. Is there a workaround? Can Ops Mgr be configured to use a different port to communicate with the HPOV agent?
Please see attached jpeg for more detail.

Hi Sam,
You can forward traps received from filer to DFM server and then DFM server to third party trap receiver like HPOV. Pls refer to this FAQ which give more details on the same.
Its is not recommended and best practice to install or run other software on the server which is running DFM server.

Adai,
Are you suggesting that they uninstall the HPOV agent from the DFM server and follow the link you provided (paragraph 7.12) to send DFM traps directly to the HPOV server?

Hi Sams,
Thats right. Also that's the recommended way and most of our other customers do it.

You can also refer the Tech Report:http://media.netapp.com/documents/tr-3688.pdf which has detail steps on how to integrate HP OpenView with OM
Thank you ravir. Is there a more recent version of TR-3688 available?
Hi Sams,
Though this is little old, but all of this still apply.
