Is NPIV(FC) based WWN of the virtual machine identified by SANscreen?

Hi,

I have a Windows 2k3 virtual machine on ESX4.0 host.

Using vCenter, i have generated NPIV based WWN for this virtual machine( which is,Node WWN-28:1c:00:0c:29:00:00:03 port wwn:28:1c:00:0c:29:00:00:04).

I have assigned a 15Gb storage lun as raw device mappings to this virtual machine.

When it was discovred in SANscreen, in FC ports detail icon I see the WWN of the ESX host HBA and not the NPIV based WWN of the virtual machine.

Please make me know how could i be able to see the NPIV based WWN in SANscreen, or is it identified by SANscreen?

-John

SANscreen doesn't support this configuration - RDM yes, but not per VM WWNs.

Thank you for the response.

Yes as you said, I am able to see the RDM which was presented for the virtual machine in SANscreen.

But the NPIV based WWN assigned for the virtual machine did not appear anywhere.
