I need to setup a unix server as admfiler for administring filers through (ssh). Need help in configuring the same.

You should do two things:

  1. Enable (SSH) access from this UX system to all your Filers. More info can be found here http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/ontap/rel733/html/ontap/sysadmin/GUID-340C1829-F3A7-4C33-99DD-36B74F129932.html and in NOW (i.e. https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=1011899)
  2. Export /vol/vol0/etc on all your Filers to your admin UX host and mount them there. This makes it easy to adopt changes (/etc/exports and so on) on your Filers.

I have few more queries.

1. what is the purpose of DFM server?

2. Is it must that DFM services should be running in this admfiler (unix server)?

3. how can I do the same for rsh?
