OPM upgrade 2.0 /support resize

SrikanthReddy

we upgraded OPM 1.1 to 2.0

when tried new backup our /support is 19g and fails

we added  disk 4 as per documentation to 520g and when tried toresize at commandline seeing data disk as disk3 not disk4

https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP12406791 page 78

is there a way to know if /support is mounted as disk3 or disk4

5 ) Increase Data Disk Size

6 ) Increase Swap Disk Size

Enter your choice: 5

Before continuing with this option, ensure that you have increased the

data disk size from "Edit Settings" section of your VM in the vSphere Client.

If you have not increased the data disk size, you can do so now and then

type "y" in the below prompt.

Data disk is "Hard Disk 3" as shown in "Edit Settings" section of your VM

in the vSphere Client.

Increasing data disk size will temporarily stop OnCommand Performance Manager.

After increasing data disk size, OnCommand Performance Manager services will restart.

Do you wish to continue? (y/N): n

I think the issue is that OPM is reading the SCSI mapping and using that ID for the disk label. Since the disk label from VMware starts at 1, but the SCSI label starts at 0, OPM is showing Hard Disk 3 where VMware is showing Hard Disk 4. I believe you're resizing the correct disk.

SrikanthReddy

worked with Netapp Support and got the disk resize fixed

the backup tool itself will resize when selected (C) to continue after resize done on vm disk4

Asked netapp to update documentation for others ,

I have not tested if the manual disk resize disk3 would resize disk4(/support)
