Encountered problems on RHEL 7 with the API binary. Couldn't install properly or uninstall netapp-platform-base, erroring with errors about creating or dropping the JBOSS user from MySQL.
My fix:
a. remove jboss user from /etc/passwd
b. removed MySQL-Community using yum
c. removed netapp-platform-base using the '--nopre --nopost --nopreun --nopostun'
I then followed standard instructions to re-install
