Hi everyone,

I am trying to setup OnCommand Unified Manager Core package 5.2.1 on Red Hat Enterprise (virtual machine over VMWare Workstation). Installation went fine, but when the service starts I get the following error:

[root@TestOCUM ~]# dfm service start
Service: sql started.
Not attempting to start sql because service is started already.
Service: webui started.
Not attempting to start webui because service is started already.
Failed to get dfm server IP address.
Error: Failed to setup http service.
Error: could not start 'http' service.
Service: eventd started.
Not attempting to start eventd because service is started already.
Service: monitor started.
Not attempting to start monitor because service is started already.
Service: scheduler started.
Not attempting to start scheduler because service is started already.
Service: server started.
Not attempting to start server because service is started already.
Service: watchdog started.
Not attempting to start watchdog because service is started already.

I checked and the eth0 IP address  is configured fine over dhcp (VMware bridged mode).

Anyone has had the same problem, or has any clues about this?

Thanks in advanced.

Gerardo

Hi,

I installed in a different RHEL machine and it worked fine.

I have noticed that the older machine didn´t had the apache server installed, so it looks like that was the problem.

Gerardo

I know this is an old thread, but I recently had this problem. After installing httpd, I had to make sure the appropriate entry was in the /etc/hosts file. Otherwise, I was still getting the "Failed to get dfm server IP address" error.

Just in case this helps someone else...
