Operations Manager Custom Performance thresholds for proactive alerting

Hi, I recently had a performance problem with one of my aggregates - it was the second time in a few months so I decided to configure Operations Manager thresholds and alarms to alert me before the IOPS reached a critical level in the future.

Hi fletch,

     Its a nice post that PA is  being  used for diagnostic and nail down performance problems.The only commen I have is the thresholds can be created from NMC UI too. By two ways.

1. By right clicking on the tree map in the left hand side view.Add threshold.See attached pic one
2. Also by  clicking on the Action butoon in the graph/chart, this give options like do a trending and baseline saying what will be a best value for threshold based on the history or the time range specifed.

Thanks for the tips - I tried your method #1 with the wizard and for the last 5 minutes its been loading the available counters...

I'll try the other way too with baselines

Is there a TR doc for this?
