Performance Manager vs. Harvest+Graphite+Grafana

What do I gain or lose in using OnCommand Performance Manger vs. Harvest+Graphite+Grafana to view  historical data and do performance troubleshooting?

Use them both for best results.  Harvest will query metrics directly from your controllers, but can also get many other metrics from OCPM.  Capacity metrics I think are only available when Harvest queries OCPM.

We use both, and frankly I find I much favor Harvest/Grafana.  Takes a little work to get it going, but that looks much easier with 1.3 release.

OPM has only some basic counters, it lacks the details.

That chart is for a really old version.  OCPM is at version 7.0 (and 7.1RC) and is much improved over 2.x.  That said, I still wouldn;t rely on it alone, without Harvest.
