But My question here , cant we set or trigger event from DFM stating SNMP no communication for the Problem Host if there no communication.

Hi Nathan,
You will get the following event, when snmp is not responding.
[root@vmlnx ~]# dfm eventtype list | grep -i snmp
host-snmp-not-responding Warning host.snmp_status
host-snmp-ok Normal host.snmp_status
[root@vmlnx ~]#

Hi Nathan,
Can you pls post the dfm diags of those filers ? Also can you check if you have alarms configured for this event either based on eventtype or severity ?
Regards
adai
