System Manager 3.0RC1 - Unable to load storage information from the configuration file

Running System Manager 3.0RC1 on my Win7 VM with IE 8 under Fusion on a Mac.  SM 2.1 worked perfectly.  I completely deleted the first install with Control Panel plus deleting the install folder.  Launches just fine, discovers just fine, but when I try to log in to a controller (8.1.2. 7-mode) I always get  the message "Unable to load storage information from the configuration file."

I tried Compatibilty mode for all sites.  That didn't help either.

Is this fixable?  Any workaround or have I misconfigured something?  Full error output below…

I had the same issue with the final 3.0 release.

Go to your Java Control Panel and clear all cache including Applets.
