Ucode conversion

We have been facing issues with (WAFL Converting directory) for volumes which has options for convert/create UCODE to off.

Netapp recommendation is to do qtree snapmirror  for volumes which has been utilized more than 50K files

we have  500 Volumes that are used by NFS client and its been protected by Protection manger .

I would like to know , in what scenarion PM will ask for ucode option to ON . & we dont want to do it on the FLY which cause freeze to Clients during conversion

Can we disable this OPTIONS(Volume-option-set   for convert & create Ucode)  from Policies of protection/provision manger for these Volumes?

we dont want to go with Qtree snapmirror ,because we see them as long process which is not going to work

Can someone recommend the best solution

HI Jayaprakash,

By default create and convert ucode options are turned ON in all Protection/Secondary as well as Provisioning Policy. There is no option to disable it. But you can go and disable after the volumes are created.

thanks adai,

so if we disable this option for secondary volume created by provisioning policy , and then try to protect on demand will it work?
