I am new to this container world but I have started to dig in now. From NetApp blogs, it appears  to me that in order to provide CVO(NFS) vol to the AKS/KS you will need a 'Provisioner'.

AKS = Cluster(Node=VM/Physical=Pods)
TRIDENT = Open Source Storage Provisioner
CVO = NFS vol

Have a look at this blog: Deploying Kubernetes with NFS volumes: (very basic)
https://cloud.netapp.com/blog/how-to-provision-kubernetes-persistent-volumes-for-nfs-services

I don't have anything setup yet, so I guess can only speculate theory at this moment. But, you could potentially engage NetApp cloud services team for any professional help if need be.

Please note that you can now add AKS cluster within Cloud manager Canvas and attach storage from your CVO environnent using GUI 😉

It is soooo easy, Trident install / upgrade is fully supported and handled by Cloud Manager.

Here is some documentation : https://cloud.netapp.com/blog/using-cloud-manager-for-kubernetes-deployment
