i figured out, that currently netapp have no solution for  sending secure mails via smtp... they working on SMTP STARTTLS, which is coming years too late (exists since 1999) and have security gaps.... But they are not working on Implicit TLS... can be funnny if your company decides to allow only Implicit TLS.... But somebody at Netapp is sleeping very well with this topic and should be wake up.... so i would say: good morning netapp: there is something to do with this must have feature!

in your link we see only the starttls info which is from 2007 and before but not the smtp auth. there is a cleare difference between smtp with starttls and smtp auth/tls. please netapp, get uptodate: read: RFC 8314 - Cleartext Considered Obsolete: Use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) for Email Submission and Access (ietf.org)

smtp starttls vs. implicit
