Has support for Qtree SnapMirror updates been dropped in SC 4.1

Hi,

This was reported to me by a customer and I confirmed this on a small test-setup:

In SC 3.6 and 4.0 you could have SC launch qtree SnapMirrors updates by adding SnapMirror

volumes to the configuration, just like with volume SnapMirrors. The only problem was

the rotation of the snapshots on the destination, which had to be taken care of by a

post-script.

After an upgrade from SC 4.0 to 4.1, SC no longer sees any qtree SnapMirror relationships. I've

attached a screenshot to show how SC reports this.

Has support for QSM been dropped deliberately in 4.1, or does this qualify as a bug ?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Filip

Filip,

Sadly QSM was never supported with Snap Creator, even though historically it worked.

I think there is a BURT open on this already, but I am not positive.

In Snap Creator 4.1 we made some changes to support clustered Data ONTAP 8.2.

These changes broke QSM, but since it wasn't officially supported we didn't test for this and were not aware that this would impact our users.

We have added user stories for supporting QSM in the future, but to date they have not been accepted.

I believe that the docs are being updated to make this clearer, but support for QSM is currently not scheduled for a release.

I'll forward your message to our product manager so she is aware of your need.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

John
