How to exclude VM from Datastore Backup

Hey everybody,

we currently have an issue with Memory dumps of virtual machines during a datastore backup which causes the SQL HA Cluster to Crash.

Therefore we would like to exclude these VMs from the Datastore Backup or at least somehow restrict them to not dump their Memory during the backup.

Any ideas?

Regards

Stefan

Stefan -

By default all VMs are included in defau;t sub-client.

You can assign a given VM to another subclient.

Then give it a different backup policy that doesn't back it up on the same schedule.

You should back up the SQL data separately, using the iDataAgent for MSSQL.

I hope this response has been helpful to you.

Hi Eugene,

i assume you are talking about SnapProtect?

We do the VM Backups with SnapCreatorFramework and the SQL Backups with SnapManager SQL. The Problem is that SMVI freezes the VM while the Memory is dumped for the VMware Snapshot which leads to the SQL HA Cluster running into timeouts and crashing.
