Can you share reasons why you are looking to move from SMO?
That may help us narrow the response.
Generally SMO is better if you need a more automated process for recovery and cloning.
Snap Creator's Oracle plugin allows for more flexibility and supports a wider variety of configurations, but it is a very manual process for anything other than backup.
Custom scripting or manual actions are required for cloning and restore operations.
I'll send this thread to a couple of our Oracle experts as well.
