Hi All,

Last week as a part of LUN MIGRATION activity i have added a LUN and assigned a drive letter to it and for the same LUN i have created a MOUNT POINT as well and its been added to CLUSTER and was servering data , Now the thing is can i remove the drive letter alone of that LUN. Please refer to the screen shot which the SVUSDB05LUNBKP has both drive letter and mount Point , Now i need to remove the Drive Letter  ' W '. Please advise if this needs any downtime else i can do it online.

Thanks,

Nayab

Assuming there are no files open on it, you should be able to remove it without cause any problems.

I'd do it in Snapdrive if I was you, you may need to use force disconnect.

I've done this many times before without any issues.

What if i have transactions happening to that LUN will that effect as we have mentioned both MOUNT POINT and Drive letter in the CLUSTER FAILOVER MANAGER. Please find the screen shot.

Sorry , We are not using SNAP DRIVE at this point . Please advise accordingly.
