Hi all,
starting SMSQL 5.0 SQL Server databases are supportet on vmdk files within an nfs vmware environment.
Creating snapshots on primary system with SMSQL works like a charme but how can I integrate Protection Manager remote backup (SnapVault)?
The configuration wizard offers the precreated protection policy but when I choose the databases to protect an error message appears (This LUN is not loacted within a qtree).
Hey, that's correct because I haven't created a LUN, I'm using NFS datastores... The mount of the nfs datastore is locatet at qtree level (/vol/vol_nfs01/nfs01)
Environment:
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2
- SQL Server 2005 Enterprise SP4
- SnapDrive 6.4
- SnapManager for SQL Server 5.2
- OnCommand 5.0
- Virtual Storage Console 2.1.2
Can me anyone give a hint how to configure this?
Michael

Hi Michael ,
Dataset integration with Protection Manager is not available for VMDK over NFS and VMFS datastore.

Abhishek
