SMSQL with SQL System Root

Hi Guys,

I have a customer with this configuration: Drive D:\, Drive L:\ and Drive R:\. The drive D:\ are the SQL System Root and Users Database, drive L:\ are the logs of all Databases and drive R:\ are to SnapInfo.

If i migrate the system database (model, master, temp) to another drive using the SMSQL, is it possible to leave the bases of users in Drive 😧 \?

tks

Hi,

Yes that is absolutely possible and also the best practice. Ideally, SQL Server system and user databases should never co-exist on the same LUN.

Regards,

Sourav.
