Dear all,
our customers want's to use snapshot technology for SAP Oracle DBs.
How is the current NetApp policy regarding SnapCreator and Snapmanager? Is it a must to use SnapManager or are
we allowed to use SnapCreator in combinantion with SAP / Oracle DBs?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Andreas

You can certainly use Snap Creator for SAP/Oracle and many customers do this for various reasons. The snapmanager provides more features around recovery and cloning and has a backint integration where SC does not.

Hi Keith,
thanks for your response.
I heard in the past something like "NetApp doesn't allow SnapCreator for Dbs where they offer an SnapManager product"... good to hear that this is not the case.

Andreas
