Hi,
Is it possible to SnapVault a SVM-DR destination volume?
SVM-DR:SourceVol ==> SVM:DestVol[SV:SourceVol] ==> SnapVault:DestVol
I can't find a definitive statement in the documentation.
Thanks
Solved! See The Solution
SVM-DR does not support cascade snapmirror so it would not work for your scenario.
Yep, that's a SnapMirror mirror-vault cascade deployment. Here is the documentation, Fan-out and cascade data protection deployments

Thanks for the reply, though there is nothing in that article mentioning SVM-DR cascades. In fact, one of the articles seems to suggest that you can't cascade from a SVM-DR destination:
Have you actually configured a SVM-DR cascade or are you just working from the documentation?
Anyone form NetApp monitoring these forums?
Thanks

If you use identity-preserve false, you can start the destination SVM (from your SVM-DR solution) and then you can use SnapMirror to vault the individual FlexVol volumes to a tertiary site or take local Snapshot copies of the individual FlexVol volumes in the SVM.
Source =======================>Dest1==================>Dest2
SVM-DR SnapMirror
(-identity preserve false) (vault)
You cannot create a cascade SVM-DR like this:
Source ==============>Dest1============>Dest2
SVM-DR SVM-DR
@ansley_tj , thanks that's a useful option - where is that buried in the documentation please?
It is short-but-sweet:

You weren't joking 🙂 - thank again
Apparently I was wrong whereas SVM-DR is concerned.
