Hot spare standby drives not kicked in to replace failed drives

Hi,

we have a site that's now seen two drives already failed . The site has 3 hot spare standby drives but the spares didn't kick in to replace the failed drives. we don't understand why not.  Could the community help check and provide some explanation?

Are the spare disks assigned to the Nodes of the cluster?

Check if there are any 'unowned' disk:
::> storage disk show -spare

 

Info: If the cluster has partitioned disks.
::> storage aggregate show-spare-disks

 

You can go to each node in the cluster and check if there are any unassigned disks.
::> node run -node cluster-01
cluster-01> disk show -n
disk show: No unassigned disks

 

Share this output as well for each Node:

cluster-01> sysconfig -r
