Hyper-V on 7 mode Filer

Hi, We are planning to use 7 mode filer as smb storage for my Hyper-V virtual machines. Please let me know whether this is supported configuration? Just want to check feasibility before actully start the deployment.

SMB support is only in clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 and above. 7 mode does not support it.

Just to double sure.. To use Windows server 2012 Hyper-V with SMB clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 and above is must have. Also please let me know where i can find compatability matrix for other possible protocol like iSCSI, FC and NFS for Hyper-V and VMWare.
