Parsing log files (VSC)

Has anyone written a powershell script to parse logfile output? 

My customer is looking to find an easier way of determining how many VSC/SMVI jobs were run without manually scanning the log file. 

We have a log parser for SMVI which helps group the data, but I'm looking to output a report for specific log entries.
