Powershell Snapmirror error: could not read from socket

I ran into the above error having run the following command form Powershell:  invoke-NaSnapMirrorInitialize fas_source:m_volnew fas_source:volnew

In the end I created the SnapMirror Relationship with the Netapp OnCommand System and then reran the same command from Powershell and it worked.

My questions is:

Is the Invoke-NaSnapMirror Initialize command not supposed to create the snapmirror relationship?

If not how can it be done with the Powershell Toolkit for NetApp

The command you used is correct and worked for me with my tests.  I tried to replicate your problem and wasn't successful.  Have you tried to create a new relationship after you found out OnCommand works properly?
