What's the windows os you are testing SMHV on? The base supported OS for SMHV 1.0 is Windows 2008 R2 RTM editions.

All other windows servers[windows 2008/2003 and client OS can be used to install the SMHV management stations.

For backup /restore of VM to work Windows 2008 R2 is the base requirement, and i think that's the reason for the error.

Thanks,

Vineeth

Thanks a lot,

My version is

OS Name Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 Datacenter
Version 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002

Does it mean INtapVSSRequestor Interface only contains in Win 2008 R2?

Can you share more information about INtapVSSRequestor Interface with me?

Yes, that's correct, please retry your operation on Windows 2008 R2 and let us know if you face any issues..

Thanks,

Vineeth

Is it possible to have a work around ? Without have 2008 R2 running ?

Unfortunately not.. SMHV is not supported on non-windows 2008 R2 platforms.

The reason is that SMHV consume special CSV APIs which is not available on platforms prior to windows 2008 R2.

Thanks,

Vineeth.
