Hello everybody,
I have two node HyperV R2 Cluster (using CSV), and try to backup my vm on each node.
Storage is FAS2020A with 12x600, with one LUN called HyperV with store VM.
So, my backup server is SRV-HV4, which is one of two node, run SMHV and SnpaDrive.
This node have two VM no critical running on it...
So below repartition of my VM :
SRV-HV1 : srv-imp
SRV-HV4 : srv-anl1
Owner of volume is SRV-HV1.
So when i backup my dataset called no-critical-vm, Vm called srv-imp backup successfully, but Vm called srv-anl1 doesn't backup !
On srv-anl1 i have this message : "SnapManager for Hyper-V is not licensed on the host or in the Storage System, backup is aborted. Failed to completed"
I think i have this error because SRV-HV4 is not the owner of the shared volume...
so have you an idea to backup my two VM successfully ??
Thanks a lot !
This is a known issue with SnapDrive for Windows and is already fixed in the product!.
Will let you know when the SnapDrive patch for this fix will be released.
Thanks,
Vineeth
Until the SnapDrive patch is release, you may move both the VMs to the CSV owner node to make your SMHV backup successfull.
Thanks,
Vineeth
SDW patch containing this fix will be released by the end of May. Please look for it in the Now site.
Thanks,
Vineeth
Wouah ! Thanks a lot for your answer.

Thanks ! You are the best one

Hi,
I have the same problem.
I use SnapDrive 6.3 Patch 2, and have same error message : "SnapManager for Hyper-V is not licensed on the host or in the Storage System, backup is aborted. Failed to completed"
Have an idea ?
Thanks a lot
What's the actual version number of the SDW you are using?
Thanks,
Vineeth
Hi,
SDW version running on my two hyper-v nodes is 6.3.0.4813 (6.3P2).
I have check my licence key, and it's ok.
So ok. I have rebooted my two node and error disappear. Strange.
But now when i try to backup my virtual machine, i have an VSS Requestor Error.
Error detected in snapshot provider.
Have an idea ?
Completely uninstall SDW and delete the installation directory, reinstall.
Hi,
Thanks for reply.
I have uninstall SDW and retry.
Now, i have this error :
Erro:SnapDrive SDDiscoveryFileSystemListInfo response is null.
Grrr...
Use Configuration Manager to specify your snapinfo location and you should be back in business.
