Is there any way to check the status of SnapProtect jobs with Powershell? If not, are there any plans to add Powershell support?
As it stands it looks like I have to query the database directly and I'm not at all keen on doing that

There is no support for powershell in snapprotect current, its supported only via q-commands, check out these links
