Clustered Data Ontap course lab setup?

I just finished the Ontap 8 admin course.  The lab setup was really great and the instructor mentioned he thought it was possible to download a vmdk of the lab and set it up after the course.

I've looked around but I've been unable to find anything like this.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Jolkowski -

I'm surprised that an instructor would not thouroughly cover instruction on the use of Data ONTAP simulators !

I make sure to teach students how to set up their own lab environs every time I teach class.

Yes, you can download your own sims.

Here's the download page:

There are many articles here on Communities on installing and setting up the simulators.

I hope this response has been helpful to you.

Can the simulator files, extracted from the compressed download file be copied up to a datastore on an ESXi HA, and a simulator machine built?

Because when I try to do this, the copy to the datastore completes, but the 126 or so small .vmdk files just dissapear once the copy is complete. Ive tried 5 times, same results.

Then I downloaded VMWare Player, and tried running the simulator from my workstation. Though my workstation fits all requirements (64 bit etc), it chokes when I try to play the simulator.

I'd like to run the simulator on the VMWare HA cluster, as its own VM. But the files I copy up to the datastore just seem to disappear.

Any ideas? How do YOU run the simulator? Where do you run it?
