We are using this an Oracle application that needs to have 8.3 filename (old dos) support turned off to work correctly.
Is there a way on the filer to disable 8.3 file creation support on a particular CIFS share?
Thanks for any help!

old thread I know but I'm looking at possibly something similar. Have you guys tried to simply *hide* the 8.3 names?
options cifs.show_dotfiles off
we have yet to test but have a similar problem with an app seeing 8.3 names...
